"All other holidays are in a more or less degree connected with conflicts and battles of man's prowess over man, of strife and discord for greed and power, of glories achieved by one nation over another. Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, St. Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Groundhog Day, MLK Day, President's Day.... yea I guess I see his point.
What an idiot.

Labor day is like Christmas for socialists. I will mark the day by spending some of my mad money on some nice non-union products.

Labor Day...is devoted to no man, living or dead, to no sect, race, or nation. Yeah, the international brotherhood of workers. Socialist bastard.

As an aside. I am a open shop contractor, we do concrete work. Over the years I have had the occasion to do work for members of public employee unions, auto workers, even union construction workers. Does anyone want to guess what percentage of these wanted us to do the work for union scale, or had a problem with us being non-union? I will give you a hint, the number rhymes with “hero”.

I was always told by The Old Man that Labor Day was ginned up by the unions to avoid associating labor with the Commie celebration of May Day.
