Oh, no, say it isn’t so, Mike! Have to back off on my support.

More like everything BUT the city core, where the seat of government is. But otherwise, I agree. Give most of the residential areas of the city back to the states they were carved out of in the first place.

Huckabee proves once again he does not have the brain power to be POTUS.

Both Northern VA and the area of Maryland around DC have more than enough libs/socialista/marxists...........I’ll go along with giving it and its’ residents the same status as the territories.

The area with the federal buildings are less than a couple of square miles. Lopping off the rest of the city would end the perennial complaint about them being a ward of Congress. Of course, Maryland or Virginia would have to agree to take them back.

250,000 more black Democrat voters wouldn't alter the demographics too much. Those areas are already heavily lib/Dem. They would just become more so with the addition of DC's current population.

Normal folks in both states will say NO..........
Unfortunately the population bases of both states surround DC and most folks there are not normal.......if you know what I mean.

Ill bet most of the people in Washington DC are employed in someway by the government. I regret to inform you that you have greatly overestimated the number of people in DC who are employed.

Mike is a serial tax raising, nanny state, illegal immigrant advocate....but he thinks it’s OK because Jesus told him to give alms to the poor, force people to treat their bodies “as the temple of the Lord” by foisting smoking and trans fat bans by Gubmint edict, and respecting lawbreakers “who just want a better life”.
I am sick to my stomache hearing the MSM and liberal pundits claim that he is the “type of candidate the religious right should love”.
That just tells you what the MSM stereotype is of a GOP candidate...a bible thumping preacher.
It takes a lot more to be a right wing limited government adherent than believing in Jesus and being pro-life.
I wish Mike Huckabee well in his private life. Seems like a nice guy. I just don’t want him in any type of position of power.

That's what I meant. In any case they already vote Democrat. That wouldn't change with the addition of DC's inhabitants. If DC were given its own representation, you'd have 3 seats guaranteed in perpetuity for the Democratic Party. Its blatantly self-interested and NO self-respecting Republican on earth should be for that... not even with the fig leaf of an extra seat for Utah.

With Huckabee I have tried to follow Ronald Reagan's commandment but the man has totally lost me with this latest nonsense. There is no danger of his getting the Presidential nod but he could have done some good for Arkansas by sticking around and building up the Republican party which afforded him the opportunity to become governor in the first place. Does he not know that DC is a RAT stronghold and their representatives will vote accordingly? He would not even get their current votes on any Republican ticket. Also, I thought Huckabee was running for President via the Republican Party but he seems to indicate that he is an Independent. Am I confused, or is he?

250,000 more black Democrat voters wouldn't alter the demographics too much. Are you nuts?
Neither Michael Steele nor George Allen lost by 250,000 votes. Well, Steele may have, but Allen sure didn't.
The conservative folks on the Eastern Shore of both states don't need any more influx of liberals, be they black or white. The black people here on the Shore tend to be more conservative than the whites.

I think the constitution established the District of Columbia. How could it just be dissolved into Md and VA?

I don't even want him as bandleader at the freeper inaugural ball for Fred Thompson....though he does play a mean gee-tar even if he's one chord short.

Huck is fast racing to Ron Paul’s level. I told you guys...when I saw him sucking up to Bill Maher’s audience, I knew this guy is just another politician from Hope, Arkansas.
