Leahy immediately goes into “there is a double standard” since Vitter is staying and Craig goes

$$$$$$

That is where I switched the TV off.

I am waiting for the Republican oppo research team to start combing the records of that madam’s phone list, because I cannot believe that Vitter is the only politician on the list.

Instead, the Republican Senatorial Committee is invisible.

The dems have a successful playbook that is becoming routine -— blasting Rs for improper behavior, and then getting the DBM and entertainment TV to become the chorus.

If Republican operatives don’t fight back, our nation will be a one party state soon. Schumer and Leahy will not be able to stop grinning. Actually their faces have perpetual grin/grimaces now.

This is actually a great catch, when the drivers by can’t get anything substantial on one of our guys they go for anything!! We should keep this in mind. Absent loafers they would stoop to making stuff up. Happens all the time.

Hey I saw her first...

LOL. I must say your reaction is understandable. I have seen her before on Fox, but this is the first time I saw her in a setting where she was able to go into any depth about her ideas and positions on issues and politics. She was excellent. I loved how she offered to send her critics free copies of her book.

Actually the difference between Vitter and Craig is that Vitter confessed to his wife, sought her forgiveness, changed his behavior (to the best of our knowledge), went to counseling and saved his marriage.

And he did it without any public pressure because he did it years before the Madam or her list were in the news.

When the list was made public, he immediately confessed publically--but the transgression was years old and he had sought and gotten forgiveness and redemption from the person harmed.

I believe Craig probably can beat this charge because there is a track record on this cop and one of his underlings that stinks on ice.

OTOH I think it's pretty obvious that he was behaving in the way the cop described because he is inventing excuses for sticking his hand under the stall wall (to pick up paper from a public toidy floor?!!) etc. I don't think they can make even the misdemeanor stick in a real court of law, but most people are going to believe he was soliciting. I do.

Remember Foley didn't really break any laws either--he waited till the boys were of age before he took action. Craig wasn't soliciting kids, but it sure does look like he was soliciting and he's trying to bluff it out instead of coming clean.

As long as he's denying the obvious, he's vulnerable to blackmail which I believe has already happened many years ago, but that's a huge other subject for a later post.

And therein lies the HUGE difference between the two.

Wait a minute, Leahy says that Vitter used the Senate cloakroom phone to set up with the prostitute. I don't think that's right. He used his own phone. That's how they fingered him.

Specter is certifiable with this idea that Craig should withdraw his resignation and fight the case. I just had to hear it for myself.

Leahy really likes Specter’s ideas for Craig. Says he makes a strong case.

I’ve told you a thousand times, don’t exagerate.

What are we missing?

Reading ability for one thing.

Recheck my original post. The [it goes from deep into Mexico to Canada and is a half mile wide here in the US.] is a quote from someone else's post.

I do recall, however, that some of the rights-of-way for the SH have been stated in other articles to be that wide of an area. In some areas, where the ports are going to be, would require a wide right-of-way.

I did notice that your response provided no links to justify you condemnation of the original statement. The onus is on you to provide a link that disproves the 1/2-mile wide statement.

The Surge is Working and Victory is at Hand. Al Queda and their Spokesmen at the DNC have been defeated. This is America’s biggest and most complete victory since WWII. The military has shown itself to be the strongest and smartest force to have walked the planet. The American soldier is now the fiercest fighting force and most creatively flexible army in histoir. President George W Bush deserves all the credit for doing what has never been done in DC which is to listen to his Generals and stand beside them through thick and thin.

Since the Surge is now at full force we have seen the most dramatic victories in the war. The city of Baghdad has been a sniper/IED zone after we toppled the statue and since the Surge began bombings are down 50%. Sniper attacks are down as well as civilian casualties down 50%. At this rate we will have people moving from Philadelphia to Iraq for some peace and safety.

How was this done. First and foremost, President Bush ignored the SurrendercRats who have said from day 1 that this will never happen to the point of Crooked Harry & Co declaring the war lost. Second, the Generals did what America is famous; they listened to the Grunt with the rifle on the ground and adapted. General Petreus developed a plan that has never been used in the history of warfare. He took his soldiers out of the safety of our forts and stationed them in the neighborhoods to clear them of terrorist enclaves.

We have never fought a purely terrorist war before. We have fought guerrilla wars but nothing as disorganized and small cell network that has no formal chain of command. The only way to fight this war is to conquer and hold to take away their safe houses/neighborhoods. The added benefit is as your troops clear the hoods of the cockroaches they pick up additional intel on the bad guys and develop trust from the local friendlies. The most valuable asset in a terrorist war is information of where and what they are hiding. This was good old fashioned American ingenuity that is bringing this Victory.

Iraq is quickly moving back to normal only in a way that they have never known. Over the past 5,000 years they have lived under kings and despots who governed them by fear and terror. For the past hundred years they have been ruled by ruthless Dictators who were students of Stalin, snatching people off the streets over any disagreement with these rulers. Michael Mooron heralded that Saddamn was freely elected by 99% of the vote. Now they are experiencing Freedom for the first time as well as self rule and the new responsibilities which accompany it. This is historic and will take more time to complete the gummit. This is a brand new Country being formed in front of our eyes. After all it took the Jews 40 years to throw off the chains of their slavery and took America, Japan, Germany and Israel decades to become working Democracies.

Of course we can never confuse true Democracy with the democrat Party or as many call it the Grim Reaper Party, which is about as far from an open an organization as it gets. That Party stands for communist totalitarian rule that will break your door down and steal your children if you have something they want. Their Party would rather the Iraqi people were tortured under Saddamn than breath the cool Breeze of Liberty.

The Cut&RunocRats would rather send millions of SE Asians or Iraqis to mass graves if they thought that would gain the reins of power. No that Party has no Soul, no Heart, no Compassion for the Oppressed, only a bloodthirsty craving of power. They are the Party of Death from Abortion to Euthanasia around to the Killing Fields Worldwide, their Blood soaked Hands are always leaving their prints everywhere. They are for the murder and oppression of everybody in the World, except you of course. No, they really care about your life. So much that they want to form another totalitarian gummit to enforce Your protection cradle to grave. Of course will require some reeducation camps.

Their greatest day ever was that sad day when our helicopters were lifting off the Saigon Embassy with civilians clinging to the skids knowing that that longshot was better than the certain death that awaited them. The CommiecRats had zero compassion for those unarmed Vietnamese who were about to face the firing squads, since these needed to be killed for the communist utopia. The ends justified the blood soaked killing field means. The helicopters symbolized their victory over the military with America kneeling to her communist Masters.

Conversely, their Worst Day is the upcoming Ticker Tape Parades that will mark the Greatest Victory since WWII as well as one of the truly selfless Triumphs in Histoir. The defeat of the Party would be complete as the military was again respected and revered by the American People as well as Feared Worldwide. America will again be Standing Tall with her Flame Lighting the Skies. That will end their hopes of a commie utopia here and put that final stake through their blackened hearts. Once again they are with the Soviet Union Tanks while the Wall is being sledged down by hurting humans standing up for American Freedom. The Surge is Working and the Rats are in the Trap.

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters

Leahy is going to get a bit of a fight from Specter on the idea of preconditions to confirming a new AG. He is not happy about that.
