President Al-Assad Reviews Regional Developments with US Senator Kucinich

Sunday, September 02, 2007 - 02:55 PM

Damascus, (SANA) – President Bashar al-Assad met on Sunday Democratic Senator Dennis Kucinich and reviewed with him the current situation in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and the latest regional and international developments.

Opinions were exchanged regarding American-Syrian relations, the possibility of pushing the peace process forward and maintaining security and stability in these sensitive circumstances.

Senator Kucinich pointed out to Syria's pivotal role in bolstering security and stability in the region.

President al-Assad affirmed Syria's stances in support of the political process in Iraq as the only way to resolve the crisis. He also affirmed Syria's support for whatever the Lebanese parties agree upon and its support for a just, comprehensive and permanent solution for the Arab-Israeli conflict, which would end all the region's problems.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem and the delegation accompanying Senator Kucinich.

Syrian news agency needs to check their facts. Kucinich is a Representative, not a Senator.

Why does Kucinich think he can play in the U.S. foreign policy space?

What an idiot.

Only in his dreams. Dennis can get elected to the House with the west side of Cleveland and Parma vote all he wants, but he would never get elected on a statewide ballot. I have faith my fellow Ohioans would never put Kucinich in the Senate (although we did keep electing Metzenbaum for many years).

And the Syrians think they’ve scored a major coup here. Memo to Assad: Even most Democrats think Kucinich is a kook.

This is part of the Syrian gambit the Democraticans are attempting to put over. In their minds, this is only laying the groundwork for the assumption of power by Herself, the Cold and Joyless, in January 2009, providing a smooth and bloodless exit for the US forces in Iraq, which shall immediately be replaced with Syrian troops. Once the Syrians are in place, then the Iranians shall enter triumphantly, signaling the next step, which is to obliterate the stain that is Israel soon afterward.

Maybe Assad his trying to steal his wife. The foriegn policy talk is just a ruse. In a serious note, I wish more Americans would wake up to this treason by the Democrats for talking to foriegn leaders that our current president has problems with. Turn this the other way around the media would be screaming about it at the top of their lungs.

Syrian news agency needs to check their facts.

Actually they don't.

That's the beauty of media in a totalitarian regime. They will print what they are told by Assad or lose their heads.
