The Senators that voted for the amnesty bill voted for LEGAL immigration as well. They voted to make something that is currently illegal legal. The chain migration bill Thompson voted for is exactly the same way.

His votes on immigration shows a propensity to increase the number of people who come here, disregarding the number of illegals already here. To me, that's neither conservative or responsible to the American people.
