I was there earlier this summer. The Tower was my favorite place in London and the Beefeater who did our tour was wonderful, so much better than the tacky tour guides who infest many other attractions.
Some people, apparently, feel the need to trash this woman because of their own insecurities. I’ll just congratulate her on her achievement. 22 years in the service is no small deal and someone who’s gone through that deserves our respect, not cheap insults with no evidence to back them up.
but some strident women do not have to crash every tradition
unless they have something to prove
it would be nice to preserve some traditions...especially innocuous ones like the fact that beefeaters have always been male
no woman in the world is being held back by that fact.
it’s ridiculous that some gals feel like destroying anything all male and speaking of insecurities, that says more about their’s than our’s
“I must validate myself by doing man things or competing with men”
I have watched this absurd progression for the last 40 years.
Doing man things doesn’t do squat really for women except occasionally enhance their practical employment opportunities and more often than not they simply lower the bar for them physically as in the military and “fireperson” trades
this sort of political social engineering flying in the face of centuries of tradition or forsaking legitimate physical concerns is an indulgence of soft decaying societies...not something to be celebrated....but rather lamented as the cancer of political correctness marches on in the west.
22 years of service?
I think she has probably proved herself on more than one occasion.
Salutes,
