You are right with your asessment. However folks are also rightfully p*ssed off because sole Shia dominance means Iranian supremacy (as long as the Iranian regime is still in place). Without the Iranian regime in the saddle things would look quite different.
The situation in Iraq can never be properly solved as long as the Mullahs in Iran are given a free hand.
Most of the Iraqi Sunnis now have joined our side and for the sake of their nation the Shias have to compromise aswell.
I think the marginalization of Al Sadr is the best indication that Iran’s stooges in Iraq are not being given a free hand. In fact, I would say that Al Sadr’s recent stand-down of his militia shows that Al Sadr has learned the lesson that has already been taught to Al Qaeda — namely, if you act like mindless thugs, you run the risk of the townspeople rising up and treating you to a necktie party.
