Muslim Sheik: Radical Extremists Have Taken Over 80 Percent of US Mosques
Boston Globe ^ | Jeff Jacoby

Posted on 09/03/2007 3:44:44 PM PDT by camerakid400

This article is a few months old, but Robert Spencer, from Jihad Watch, just talked about it yesterday.

By Jeff Jacoby BOSTON GLOBE January 10, 2007

Speaking at the State Department in 1999, Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, a Sufi sheik and leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of America, sounded an alarm about Muslim houses of worship in the United States.

"The most dangerous thing that is going on now in these mosques . . . is the extremists’ ideology," he said. "Because they are very active, they took over the mosques; . . . they took over more than 80 percent of the mosques that have been established in the US." He warned ominously that "a danger might suddenly come that you are not looking for . . . we don’t know where it is going to hit."

At the time, Kabbani’s charges may have seemed little more than inside Muslim baseball. After Sept. 11, it became clear that mosques dominated by radical clerics were a potentially lethal threat. Many such mosques are funded by Saudi Arabia, which spends heavily to propagate Wahhabism, a fanatic and aggressive strain of Islam. The Saudi government, reported the 9/11 Commission, "uses zakat" -- Islamic charity -- "and government funds to spread Wahhabi beliefs throughout the world, including in mosques and schools. . . . Some Wahhabi-funded organizations have been exploited by extremists to further their goal of violent jihad against non-Muslims." Its findings were reinforced by Freedom House, which in 2005 documented the penetration of US mosques by Saudi-supplied Wahhabi hate literature.

Yep. There are those who want to kill us this minute and then there are those willing to be more patient. But they all want us dead.

Have you ever witnessed a bigger POS posing as a Texas Republican?? I only know of one other: Bill White, “Honorable” Mayor of Houston. Who I hear is going to throw his sombrero in the ring for governor. Resistance is indeed futile.

Well I know some people say that. I don’t go quite that far, but I could be wrong.

I favor a plan that would offer Muslim families $500,000 to repatriate back to where they came from. In addition, I would stop all visas to people form Middle-Eastern nations known to have harbored, aided terrorists or simply allowed them to congregate there.

I do not like what I am seeing with regard to new mosques poping up across this nation, and the activism the Muslim adherants have demonstrated they are going to push.

We would spend billions to do this, but the end result would be less of a threat to our nation.

Follow the money. The mosques are controlled by radicals BECAUSE the Saudi sponsors want it that way. The Saudis are the true enemy, the string-pullers behind al-Queda

Wow! They deleted my post 10! I guess we’re not supposed to express our concerns about certain gubmint officials. Gov. Perry is more of the same.

Your comment #10 has been restored. It was pulled for what I thought was good reason but if you want to post that kind of comment here, I’m not going to stop you.

Thank you, but if you had your reasons, that’s good enough for me. I may have gotten a bit overzealous, but we have so much coming at us from so many directions, I do feel that we have been betrayed to some extent. Please do as you wish. It’s your forum after all. I will understand.

“I favor a plan that would offer Muslim families $500,000 to repatriate back to where they came from.”

I disagree. We should give them exactly the same treatment they give to Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhists that live in muslim countries: Instead of spending half a million dollars to buy them off we should spend 10 cents: This is the cost of the bullet they should be threatened with if they don’t go back to that cesspool they call a homeland. THAT is an offer they would actually understand and respond to.

While I understand your call for this, I could never sign on to it. I may think these folks are a very poor fit for our nation, but I do not want to turn into the worst of them to get my point across.
