As I recall, Mexico did not accept Germany’s offer. I guess Mexico is a better friend to the US than WWI Germany thought or many present day Americans think.
If anybody remembers the Zimmermann Telegram, it offered Mexico the American Southwest!
Mexico’s reply was “We don’t have enough Mexicans in the Southwest to hold it, YET”!

I don't see a damn thing out of character with the President of a chaotic foreign land making this sort of bombastic statement. I also don't see why an American President (Oh say, somebody like George Bush) shouldn't deliver a very public, yet highly diplomatic, STFU to Calderon.
Let's make this an opportunity to correct Calderon. After all this kind of statement is totally uncalled for from our point of view. WHo does this Mexican think he is with this 'Greater Mexico' crap; an Albanian?
