A couple of years ago, Iran was refining 60% of its own gasoline. Iran is trying to increase refining, and five refineries are being built for Iran in other Asian countries (incl. China). We’ll see how it turns out.
...another tidbit. The Iranian leadership also recently decreed that hence, only dual fuel cars be manufactured there (gasoline and natural gas, IIRC).
