In the comments for this article, one goofball says that a Christian activist is as bad as a Muslim fundamentalist. Oy!

This question strikes me as a little unfair...even if those particular students are probably uninformed. September 11th is not yet old enough to be in the material in history class, and an 18-year-old would have been 12 when it happened. If pressed, Im sure that they could derive the year.
For example, the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal happened when I was about 13, but I could not tell you the year for sure without thinking about it for a minute. A strange guy with a microphone might or might not deserve that consideration. (and no i’m not comparing the two events in anything but their both being relatively recent for older people)

An eerie coincidence is that the New York State quarter came out earlier that year. The quarter has the Statue Of Liberty and “2001” on it so every time I see I lower my head and remember that awful day.

I wonder how many of them knew what month the September 11 attacks happened?

The first time I saw H.G. Wells'
The Time Machine movie, I wondered how people could become so uninformed and slide so far down the food chain as the Eloi.
Now I know.

Christian activist and author Mark Dice dropped by San Diego State University to see how many of tomorrow's leaders know what year 9/11 happened. It happens every year! It's September 11th for goodness sake! It's not like a leap year!
Of course, there was a terrible attack on the US one year, on September 11. That would be 2001.

This weekend, Brian Lamb's interview of Ray LaHood (lame-duck RINO Congressman from Illinois) was shown on C-SPAN. LaHood at one point talked of "a 365 degree turn" when he meant 180.
I think a 365 degree turn would be the same as a 5 degree turn.

“...know what year 9/11 happened....”
9/11 happens every year. It hasn’t happened this year yet (as of this posting).
Seriously, that’s sad. Some people net to get a clue. History has always been a favorite of mine. Some date ring bells with me and 9/11/2001 rings a LOT of them. Everyone that was at least ten years old on that date should know the significance of it.
