I have 23! Of course only two are running. The rest are old Commodore 64s and 128s with a few TIs (collect them from yard sales … for posterity, ya know). Even an old Packard Bell (my first non-Commodore PC).
Just because he has 17 computers in his home doesn’t mean he is using them all at the same time … doesn’t mean he isn’t either. ;-)
