I have a knee-jerk hostility to people who use the word “Source” instead of “Buy” or “Purchase”.
Grrrrrr....
I hates them.
Hates them.

I have a knee-jerk hostility to people who use the word Source instead of Buy or Purchase. That doesn't make it wrong. Most people's instincts are right on the money.

I have a knee-jerk hostility to people who use the word Source instead of Buy or Purchase. Grrrrrr.... I have the same reaction when I read articles that use "the government" instead of "taxpayers". i.e., "The government" plans to spend ....blah blah dollars, instead of "taxpayers" will spend blah blah dollars.

Do you “buy” or “purchase” from vendors or suppliers?
It always grated my nerves to hear a multi-$Billion corporation referred to as a “vendor” or “supplier”...
It seemed so much more appropriate and respectful to think of them as your “source”...
The guy who sells hot dogs on the street, may be your food vendor.
The guy who sells you your dope, is fittingly called your supplier.
Neither term is appropriate for the SOURCE of your million dollar a day or week purchase of precision components.
