I can believe it’s part of his culture. I can even believe that Vick didn’t think it was really bad. I can believe that Vick thought it was like gambling in an office pool, illegal, but who cares?

Even if all that is true, it in no way excuses Vick. Even if he thought it was ok, he was severly mistaken. And ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Let him do his time. And if he is so inclined, let him put this behind him.

Co-host Joy Behar had it just about right when she called what Vick did “dog murder”. The dogs were executed, not because they were convicted of some crime, or because they were politically incorrect, but only because they lost the match. There was no mercy shown at all. The dogs died in excruciating pain, was that supposed to be for the good of their souls? Did the torture cause them to reveal any secrets they held dear?

Things like this would not be done to an Islamic terrorist (who roundly DESERVES similar treatment).

But apparently Whoopi thinks it is OK to do things like that to a dog, because it is accepted in the “culture”.
