Democratic donor Norman Hsu fails to appear for bail hearing (Man on the run)

Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu (SHOO) has failed to appear for a bail hearing in Redwood City.

Hsu forfeits the $2 million bail he posted last week. A judge has issued a new warrant for his arrest.

Hsu's lawyer says he doesn't know where he is.

Hsu has been a fugitive in California for 15 years during which time he became a top donor to Democratic candidates, including presidential contenders Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Hsu pleaded no contest in 1991 to a felony count of grand theft, admitting he'd defrauded investors of $1 million in a bogus investment scam.

Prosecutors say he was facing up to three years in prison when he skipped town before being sentenced.

Federal Election Commission records show Hsu donated $260,000 to the Democratic party and candidates since 2004.

I wonder if we’ll see Hsu’s inevitable apprehension on A&E’s next season of Dog the Bounty Hunter. :)

He’s probably back in Beijing being debriefed by his PLA Intelligence handlers.

Walked away from $200,000 in bail. Dumb ass judge for giving any bail at all. Fugitive for 15 years, pretty clear that he is a conduit for foreign government money into the US . . . and he gets released on bail.

Did he have to relinquish his passport as a condition of bail?

May have been posted as cash or the bondsman most likely got guarantees from others.

and they find like so many with multiple suicide shots
to the back of the head.

I was going to ask what idiot let him make bail and not give up his passport but I am sure that his money source would have absolutely no problem with conjuring up a new passport.
