No worries, Ted Stevens is going to earmark a 250 million dollar screen (constructed by Alaskan’s, of course) to use in future duct deaths so as to hide it from the kiddies.

This happens a lot more often than you'd think.

Every month or so another story surfaces on FR about some idiot burglar that tries to crawl in a ventilation hood outlet, a chimney, or an airshaft.

Sometimes they're rescued before they die. Sometimes they're not discovered for a long, long time. Some guy who disappeared in the 1970s was recently discovered in the disused brick chimney of a South Carolina gift shop. The shop had closed and was being renovated, and when they opened up the paneling that had closed off the fireplace, they noticed the smell . . . . nothing but bones, but they identified him by his driver's licence in the pocket of his pants.

Boy, no kidding... although I think that poor Elvis had it the worst. I wouldn’t want to be found dead on the toilet.

I try to read the News-Miner from Fairbanks every day, as my kids are up there. (Durn kids won't return the grandson..but that's another story:) ) and I constantly get a good laugh out of it. Like the old man who was killed while driving by a moose hitting his car. His wife said "You have to admit, it's a pretty Alaskan way to go!" I love that place!! They might move a bit slower than we in the Lower 48, but they sure do have a good sense of humor!
