Head over to Eighty Deuce's place and read the story of Charlie, a dog in which Eighty has grown very close to. He could use a bit of help contacting Military Mascots to help get Charlie to the States. Their website isn't exactly working at this moment in time, though. You investigative types mind lending your skills to Eighty? I know he would appreciate it and you'll get a thank you from me, too.

Thanks for posting this request. I won't be of much help, as I know nothing about the subject, but I think it's wonderful that our soldiers are willing to bring back dog refugees from Iraq and Afghanistan. May God keep them safe and bring them all home.

Thats a good starting point, its my understanding they rescued animals during and after the Iraq v Iran conflict.
My wife is heavily involved in animal rescues, specifically dogs...she’s now doing some queries in related forums about this request.
I’ll post what she comes up with as I get it.
No worries. Once this particular type of ‘fuse’ gets lit with her friends, well ‘git r done’ just seems to happen...like it did in the wake of Katrina, for example.
Stand by...I’ll be back soon with the dog klans...(chuckle)

A ‘doggie ping’ would be most helpful here.

I posted it because I figured with the size of FR there's bound to be someone on here that could help him in some way.
I can't even imagine leaving my dog in Baghdad. Granted, that's where he found him but still it's an awful thought.

Leaving a dog in any city would be awful, but esp. Baghdad - I sure hope the critter gets to come home with his person.

I will pass that along.

The story of Charlie and the Demon Dog is an entertaining read! It appears that it may be fairly expensive to get the dog to the USA. There were several comments on donations- I’d love to contribute but don’t know how or where. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

He's got a Paypal account. I missed it at first as it's not Paypal's usual logo; he used a dog bone logo.
Here's the link to his blog: http://operationbch.blogspot.com/
If you scroll down you'll see the dog bone on the right. It says "donate online"

Thanks! I didn’t read it in a full window and missed it the first time as the splatter and quote floated over the Operation Bring Charlie Home banner. I paypal’d him and sent the link on to several others. I wish them well and with any luck the mailman in Phoenix will not be of Iraqi descent!
