With illegal immigration the topic of the night, Congressman Tancredo proves himself once again as the champion of reform.

"Its got nothing to do with disliking people who are coming into this country. It's got everything to do with the rule of law."

I’m noticing a split between Hunter and Tancredo on FR and I am honestly asking without sarcasm, what is the difference between them that makes one better than the other in regards to Illegal Immigration?

I like them both, but I’d hate for one to take votes away from the other in the primary.

But, but, but, what about Michael Medved touting him as the best of the bunch? :)

I like Tom Tancredo.

He would make a fantastic Senator. We need to replace that old guard with some of these guys not afraid of a confrontation.

A question I would like answered by these men is... what are you going to do with the illegals that are already here in this country. It never gets asked. I heard Huckabee in an interview a while back say that we should find some way to legalize them—He is a lib and I will not vote for him!

I think your are preaching much to the choir.

If they are working in tandem it wouldn’t suprise me. Tancredo is pushing The People’s agenda, he’s taking so much heat for it however Hunter is pushing the Solution but not getting much attention (however that is changing).

Personally I like them both and I’m waiting for either to settle on a particular issue that is dear to me. However I get the feeling I won’t like the answer so they aren’t answering.

I thought as much. Perhaps if nothing else they can keep Illegal Immigration in the forefront.

I so wish this immigration debacle had erupted months before the 2008 election rather than a year and a half out. That way America would be outraged at the right time. Now, it’s too easy for America to be lulled.

Huckabee, in his Arkansas speech used Gingrich’s FEDEX tracing comment, and again in the debate on Wednesday. In Arkansas he also used, verbatim, Duncan Hunter’s comment on “leveling the playing field with China trade”. I didn’t like that at all. Most all of the candidates have taken pages from Hunter’s book, but never like Huckabee.

This is such an easy question to answer. Proving legal residence status OR citizenship and providing social security identification should be required for both jobs and housing. If you can’t do either there is no reason to stay here and frankly, no one is going to stop illegal aliens from leaving.

From what I have been able to determine, Tancredo is tougher on ALL immigration, wanting to reduce LEGAL immigration, as well as crack down on illegal immigration.

Also, Hunter is more of a hawk on the WOT where Tancredo seems to be showing some more libertarian views, closer to Ron Paul.

Don’t flame me folks... that’s just my observation. Correct me if I’m wrong, please.

I like Sir Tancelot, gaurdian of our sovereignty. I hope his poll numbers go up. He showed some improvement in the Iowa straw poll, if I remember correctly.

I agree and I loathe those gangsters.

Tancredo would be the "gang buster" in the Senate.

They pretty much have the same view, build a wall, deport the ones here.

Its just that Tancredo is more focused on immigration, and has made it his focal point, and thus, tends to lead all issues and topics to it, while Hunter, is more overall focused, and also more likely to express his views on other topics without relating it to illegal immigration.

Think of it this way, Tancredo is the guy who would hijack a thread about a defective keyboard and turn it into a thread on illegal immigration, while Hunter would stay on topic.

That said, the 2 of them, do disagree strongly, on free trade, and have total opposite views on the topic, and do disagree on a few other areas.....they are also friends, so don't expect to see them bashing each other.
