Hope he doesn’t “accidently” commit suicide in jail.... Remember Vince Foster.

You beat me to posting... From Yahoo!News:

Disgraced Dem donor arrested in Colorado

SAN FRANCISCO - Disgraced Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu was arrested in Colorado late Thursday on a warrant a judge issued after he failed to show up for a court appearance related to a felony theft conviction.

FBI agents took Hsu into custody at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., said FBI spokesman Joseph Schadler.

Hsu had been scheduled to appear in court Wednesday to turn over his passport and ask a judge to cut in half the $2 million bail he posted last week when he turned himself in after spending 15 years on the lam from a felony theft conviction.

Instead, Hsu failed to show up at the bail reduction hearing and a judge issued a new arrest warrant for him.

California Attorney General spokesman Gareth Lacy said Hsu's lawyers told prosecutors Hsu arrived by charter jet at the Oakland airport about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday local time and then wasn't heard from again.

When it became apparent that Hsu had fled the state, California authorities sought the assistance of the FBI, whose agents arrested him Thursday night on charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, Schadler said.

Once he is returned to state custody, the federal charges will be dismissed, Schadler said.

This will be an interesting story tomorrow morning. It’s possible to have driven from Silicon Valley to Grand Junction in 36 hours but I’d bet that he flew.

I am surprised they found him alive. He probably has tons of dirt on dozens of Democrats. Re bail, almost anything is possible in zanny, nutty liberal California but I think granting him another “get out of jail” card again so soon after his escape is too outrageous even for the freaks on the west coast.

Can anybody explain this to me?:

FBI agents arrested him Thursday night on charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, Schadler said. Once he is returned to state custody, the federal charges will be dismissed, Schadler said.

So under what circumstances would somebody be prosecuted for "unlawful flight to avoid prosecution"?

I would speculate that he was going to catch an international flight out of either Denver or Chicago. That's the route of the California Zephyer. As for him being sick...depending on his health at the time of departure the higher altitude of the Rockies could have gotten to him.

BTW....there's probably no better way to cross the US unnoticed than Amtrak.

true, but this guys face was all over the news. he should have gone OJ (back of a truck under a tarp while his boy was driving). he had to have known that going into a hospital would have been very risky. should have toughed it out unless his arm was falling off.

He still has his passport? When will a court finally conclude that Hsu is a flight risk and confiscate his passport, refuse him bail and clap him in jail? Our judges are actually this stupid?
