SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A La Verkin man who raised money for the presidential campaign of Republican Mitt Romney has left the organization.
Romney spokeswoman Gail Gitcho says Robert Lichfield's work with the campaign ended in July.
At a single Utah event this year, Lichfield brought in about $300,000 for Romney.
Lichfield is the founder of the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools. He and the association are among at least 140 defendants named in a federal lawsuit that alleges students at schools with ties were subjected to abusive treatment.
Representatives of the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools have called the allegations ludicrous.
“Lichfield is the founder of the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools. He and the association are among at least 140 defendants named in a federal lawsuit that alleges students at schools with ties were subjected to abusive treatment.”
Someone is suing because a student require to wear a tie is abusive?
I don’t know why they said that. But I don’t think wearing ties has any relation to the alleged abuse. That’s just my read of it.
IT’S ALL OVER! THE WHEELS ARE COMING OFF THE ROMNEY CAMPAIGN! MASSIVE TURMOIL IN THE ROMNEY CAMPAIGN! SOMEBODY LEFT THE CAMPAIGN, STICK A FORK IN IT, IT’S DONE!
Ping the lists. Whenever somebody leaves Fred’s campaign, the Mittites scream that it’s a sign of impending calamity for Fred. So Romney is obviously done for!
*************
Heh. Turnabout is fair play. :)
Yep. We’ve played nice for too long.
I think the ties DID have something to do with it.
It sounds like kids who showed UP with ties were abused. I know that if a kid wore a tie to school when I was growing up, they got abused.
Maybe the suit is that the group didn’t do enough to prevent ridicule by other students?
I don’t really get it, maybe there is another story somewhere that explains it.
However, it’s likely the man left the Romney campaign beause of the lawsuit, in order to prevent the campaign from being harmed collatorally. If you like a candidate, and your support could cause problems, you step aside.
The more people you have supporting you, the more of them will have to step aside to avoid embarrasing you.
LOL! Maybe we should ping the Romney supporters.
I can almost hear the distaste for Fred that Romney seeths under the surface (whenever he is asked about Fred T.)..it’s digusting, and evil...
It says the guy raised $300,000. Doesn't sound like anyone from Fred's campaign who's left or stayed.
“Apparently” he misunderstood Mitt’s requirement to tithe 10 percent of the funding?
Can you not read? They tied the kids up before abusing them! ;^)

And this is considered "news" in September by the AP? Typical MSM hit piece.
