I’m saying that it is unethical at best, and at odds with the constitutional process to manipulate the results of a political party nomination by switching parties solely for that purpose, without adopting the belief systems of that party. It’s a SCAM, pure and simple.

No, it is the exercise of individual states and their state parties in how best to attract new voters, encourage voters to vote for their most desired candidate, etc. It fosters (ugh) democracy. Well, okay, as long as they don't consider that any great virtue in our representative republic. The Founders intended this sort of limited exercise of democracy at the state and local level. But not nationally.

I would NOT endorse “spamming” the DNC either. So it has nothing to do with who the unethical behavior benefits. It’s unethical, and it scews the system, no matter who it benefits.

Killjoy. You must have been a hallway monitor or class president back in elementary school.

Libertarians do NOT have the numbers to swing the “conservative” party in any direction. 2-3% at best...

I think the best estimates indicate a 7%-10% range among Republican voters. But it depends on the election, the candidates, the issues. Kind of fluid. There is a discernible libertarian strain in the GOP but it's almost impossible to quantify over time. Not trying to be evasive here. It's those darned voters who are evasive if you ask me! Have you ever met our voters, BTW? Damned herd of cats.

That first thread is one I’d seen earlier today but lost track of. The second, of course, is very familiar. It’s something those Libertarians here should read.

They are trying to FLOOD the system with people who are not really Republicans - kind of like flooding the system with ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS who vote for Demos!

You want to argue that manipulating party nomination processes is some sort of states right now?

Show me where that’s written?

Since when is the intentional “outside” manipulation of party politics a legitimate part of the party nomination process?

Make up any defense you want. We all know what we are talking about here.

We are talking about a small fringe group of the party supporting a small insignificant fringe libertarian candidate inside of a party where the majority oppose that candidate and his views.

So, the fringe candidate and his supporters go outside of that party to find like-minded supporters from across the political aisle, who are also opposed by the vast majority of that party, invite them into the party for the purpose of hijacking it’s nomination process and you think this is an ethical and healthy form of “democracy” at work???

No more devils advocate excuses. This is what you support??? This is good governance in your opinion?

Funny....

Libertarians are the smallest of insignificant fringe extremists, yet they somehow perceive that they are the “mainstream” of conservatism, which happens to oppose them almost as much as Marxism.... LOL

Talk about delusionsal.

It’s like “little man” syndrom, or penis envy. LMAO!

Libertarians have never been the mainstream of anything... and at the rate they are pissing off everyone, they never will be. Legends in their own minds, they are... OMG

Where’s Dr. Phil when you need him?

Oh that's funny right there, I don't care who you are.

True... but if they believe so strongly, why aren’t they proud to be libertarians? Why are they hiding under the guise of conservatism or Republican?

Why won’t Paul run as a Libertarian Independent?

I have NO complaints with that. I only have a complaint about trying to hijack someone else’s party when they lack the numbers and power to have their own party...

Because they know they have no shot at anything that way, let alone the Presidency. So they try to hijack the GOP primaries to give themselves a shot, albeit a fraudulent one.

Dishonest, shameful, pitiful. But I'm beginning to believe illustrative.
