I can see why a classic liberal would be attracted to Paul's libertarian stances, but not necessarily his "classic conservative" ones. The philosophies are much closer than the modern definitions allow for, I'll grant that, but I just find it an odd statement, like you are trying to pull the conservative label instead of just using the libertarian one.

There maybe more to it, I am rusty on the details, it just tripped my odd-o- meter, that's all.
