MR. WALLACE: So, Congressman Paul, and I’d like you to take 30 seconds to answer this, you’re basically saying that we should take our marching orders from al Qaeda? If they want us off the Arabian Peninsula, we should leave? (Laughter.)

REP. PAUL: No! (Cheers, applause.) I’m saying — (laughter) — I’m saying we should take our marching orders from our Constitution. We should not go to war — (cheers, applause) — we should not go to war without a declaration. We should not go to war when it’s an aggressive war. This is an aggressive invasion. We’ve committed the invasion of this war, and it’s illegal under international law. That’s where I take my marching orders, not from any enemy. (Cheers, boos.)

The reason we don’t declare wars anymore is because of “international law.”

Its the UN that puts us in the position of waging war without delcaring it “war” anymore.

Ron Paul believes big government wastes a lot of money and I like that, but this “war” thing is off base.

I get the feeling the libertarian movement in this country has been taken over by the Bush-bashing left.

I detest “aggressive wars”! I hope some kook comes along and puts an end to all aggressive wars. I mean, one can surely put on a decent war without all the aggressiveness, right?

You can just as easily drop cotton balls on an enemy as easily as bombs and the message gets across, just the same. We need more boots on the ground with squirt guns, no one likes to get wet. I mean the US has set loose “killer badgers” in Iraq, when does the aggression end? We don’t need no stinkin’ badgers!

A good illustration of why Ron Paul is illiterate with respect to the Constitution. The Constitution gives no marching orders.

It leaves the decisions of war and peace in the hands of the Commander in Chief / executive of foreign policy, and the Congress, as a prudential judgment to be made by the representatives of the people. Some one this ignorant of the fundamentals of government has no business even considering running for President.

Thank God for Ron Paul, and a pox upon the snickering juveniles.
