September 2007 updates: Hussein and terrorism
Regime of Terror ^ | September 8, 2007 | Mark E.

Over the past few months a number of stories related to the former Iraqi regime's links to terrorism have developed.

Recently, former top aide of Saddam Hussein, Izzat al Douri, was said to have renounced his alliance with al Qaeda. What isn't being asked is how can Al Douri, who once told TIME of cooperating with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, be "breaking" from al Qaeda if Baathists would not be willing to work with al Qaeda to begin with?

In a related story, former Iraqi PM (and former Baath party member) Iyad Allawi's connections to information about members of the former regime may have been reinforced when he was reportedly able to set up a meeting between representatives of Izzat al Douri and U.S. representatives. If Allawi truly has these sorts of contacts inside the ranks of the former regime it would be wise not to discount his knowledge (video and story here) regarding the former regime's links to al Qaeda, including possible meetings with al Qaeda #2 Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Excellent article Mark. With the incredible amount of evidence linking Saddam regime to islamic terrorism and to Al Qaeda still many people in the liberal world and in the government consider it irrelevant.

Thanks Joseph. I would have liked to go into more detail on some of that stuff but just kind of wanted to at least get all that out there for others, like yourself.

Hope you’re doing well bud.

I am doing fine FRiend. I hope that one day the government will put the Iraqi documents website back up, so much evidence in these documents regarding Saddam strong relation to terrorism and his WMD programs.

Suicide by multiple gunshot wounds to the head. That happens all the time, right?

Years ago, during Saddam's regime, an American engineer was working in Iraq when he was arrested and taken prisoner. He was held several days then taken to the Iranian border and expelled.

His crime was doing his job. He was a water specialist who went to the oil companies and received information about sources of water. The oilmen knew where the water was and gave him the info gratis. Little did he know that water was a commodity highly guarded by Saddam's regime.

He returned to the US, became a professor at the UH over here. I've heard a couple of interviews he'd given. In Saddam's police state, they knew who everyone was, what they were doing and who they talked to at every moment.

In the article about Abu Nidal, Saddam's regime said he entered the country illegally. That is very doubtful.....as doubtful as multiple gunshot wounds to the head being a suicide.

Thanks for the ping! I noticed that the CFR website doesn’t mention the Iraqi diplomats expelled by the Philippine government after they were linked to an Abu Sayyaf bombing.

Thank you for the ping.

By now, there’s only 2 types of folk that don’t get it. Those who can’t (meaning their brains are incapable of function) and those who wont (meaning their reality is totally corrupted by adherence to the enemy).

Keep up the good work, and again, thanks.

Thank you for the ping.

I do appreciate your work posting updates here to demonstrate that the liberal moolahs in this nation set out to deceive covering up the reality of what literally happened and continues to happen.

Is it even conceivable that our liberals are in league with Al Qaeda, because if they literally are not they are sure putting on a show giving the appearance they support Al Qaeda?

It is almost a mute point at this stage for those that have been following all the info provided over the past few years from so many quarters.
The many trails have been tracked down and documented. Only a fool or one simply totally non informed would believe Saddam was not up to his eyeballs with a number of terrorist groups.
