“50,000,000 Chinese youth to prepare for warfare against the USA”

Anything’s possible, but it’s totally inconsistent with Chinese culture and history.

Like others, I think this is kindof silly.

What good would it do to train 50 million young Chinese men in the ways of aircraft carriers and blackhawks? What are they going to take them out with, 50 million aircraft?

I say keep our eye on China. I’d like to see us alter our trade with them. And I’d like to see them held to account like other nations are. Other than that, I don’t think we should demonize them beyond reasone.

Right. I honestly don’t believe China wants world domination or even a war with the US. I actually believe that world events will bring China and the US together. I mean, once Europe becomes mostly Islamic, what better ally to have than China?

I tend to predict China and Islam will work together, thinking in the end they can finish the other off after they jointly rid the world of the "running dog yankee imperialists".

Nor do they give a hoot.

Whats inconsistent about Chinese culture and history?During the Korean war the United States forces faced Human wave attacks by poorly armed or unarmed troops as they were retreating back across the 38th parallel.

When China has a policy that requires military action to implement it you can bet she’ll do just that.

Some say that China would be suicidal to do that because of an economic dependence with the U.S. I think in China’s eyes she see’s that as a temporary shortcoming in that by trading with us she is able to get a lot of technology she normally would not have.

Only time will tell.

Many are addicted to Chinese trade, especially in the North. I fear (pray) for this nation; the reality is Clinton and Bush has wasted our years of vast military superiority (btw I am not cricizing the war in IRAQ: I fully support that, and the WoT), but they have wasted an opportunity to align the nations in a way that will ensure our dominance Now that seems less likely (btw: before I get flamed, I still consider the USA the greatest nation on earth, I am just recognizing a reality that liberals may have damaged this nation already far past the point of us being prepared for a “new WW III”).

I have a ‘Pefect Opportunity to weaken the People’s Republic” (if Taiwan the President have the Gaul to do so..):

during the olympics the USA should unilaterally recognize Taiwan as an independent sovereign nation (I doubt the people would make an agressive move during the summer olympics)!

“Whats inconsistent about Chinese culture and history?”

The Chinese have never ventured outside of their historical boundaries, no matter the provocation (ie Japan). They did help the North Koreans invade the South as they did the Vietnamese, but that was totally within their historical boundaries.

The Genghis Khan, of course, ventured farther, but he wasn’t truly Chinese, rather borderline Russian/Chinese, and, in any case, operated without Chinese culture —

Anything’s possible, but we have bigger things to worry about with Islam.

I'm afraid that's untrue. China started as a small kingdom on the banks of the Yellow River. Take a look at historical maps of China over the past several thousand years, and you will find a China that is much different, size- and shape-wise from today's China. China's recorded history tends to blame barbarians for provoking them into massive land grabs, but the reality is that the Chinese pattern has always been to expand its territory in times of military strength. It's just that China has been weak for the past couple of centuries or so. That is now changing.

Every so many years, someone predicts the end of the world, and they cherry pick the Bible to do so. And it makes SUCH a good news story.

You know I came back to your post for some reason, then I saw the pic with bill & hill, and manbearpig. (gore's book needs to black, or something).
Anyway, I like positive thinking too.
This country needs leadership that inspires loyalty. We need to start working and thinking as a country that has responsibilities to itself.
Lets hope that issues like this get discussed in this coming campaign year. By the candidates!
