Report estimates county's illegal immigrant cost at $256 million in 2006

SAN DIEGO ---- A county-commissioned study estimated that illegal immigrants directly cost the county of San Diego and taxpayers $101 million last year, and indirectly cost an additional $155 million in unpaid medical care.

However, the estimates in the $40,000 study, which the county Board of Supervisors voted to pursue in May 2006, were largely based on anecdotal information rather than hard statistics.

Supervisors sought the study in the hope of presenting federal officials with a bill for the costs of illegal immigration in the border county of San Diego. Horn and the rest of the board say local governments and taxpayers should not have to pay extra for a "failed federal immigration policy."

The human cost when illegal criminals rob, murder, terrorize and rape American citizens is nothing you can assign a dollar value on.

The cost is only part of the 14 Reasons to Deport Illegal Aliens:

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year. http://tinyurl.com/zob77

2. $2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens. http://www.cis.org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.html

3. $2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens. http://www.cis.org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.html

4. $12 Billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of English! http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.0.html

5. $17 Billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

6. $3 Million Dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

7. 30% percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

8. $90 Billion Dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for Welfare & social services by the American taxpayers. http://premium.cnn.com/TRANSCIPTS/0610/29/ldt.01.html

9. $200 Billion Dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that’s two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the United States . http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.html

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroine and marijuana, crossed into the U. S. from the Southern border. Homeland Security Report: http://tinyurl.com/t9sht

12. The National Policy Institute, “estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.” http://www.nationalpolicyinstitute.org/pdf/deportation.pdf

13 In 2006 illegal aliens sent home $45 BILLION in remittances back to their countries of origin. http://www.rense.com/general75/niht.htm

14. “The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration: Nearly One Million Sex Crimes Committed by Illegal Immigrants In The United States “. http://www.drdsk.com/articleshtml So using the LOWEST estimates, the annual cost OF ILLEGAL ALIENS is $338.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR! So if deporting them costs between $206 and $230 BILLION DOLLARS, Hell get rid of em’, We’ll be ahead after the 1st year!!!

I do not know what the real expenses are in relation to American suffering, working to support them, the untreatable TB, crime, lost medical care because of the crowded Emergency wards etc

Immigration Counters (Real-Time Data Resource Center)

The High Cost of Cheap Labor - Illegal Immigration and the Federal Budget (2004 Study)

The Unpleasant FACTS ARE

>>Both studies found that immigrants used government services at a greater rate than native-born residents did. The New Jersey study found, for instance, that the typical immigrant family received about $4,044 annually in government services, about 11 percent higher than the average native-born family. At the same time, immigrant households paid about 8 percent less in taxes. The net result was that “the average native household generated an annual fiscal surplus of $232” to government, while “the typical foreign household was a net burden of $1,484.” The gap was even wider in California, where immigrant households produced a net deficit of $3,463 each, because so much of that state’s recent immigration had been in the form of low-wage, low-skill workers.

Though the study did not distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants, it did break down foreign-born households by the regions of the world from which they had come. In both states, the study found the steepest deficit in Latin American households, which in New Jersey consumed 26 percent more in government expenditures than the average native-born family, but paid 38 percent less in taxes. By contrast, immigrant households in New Jersey that hailed from Europe or Canada actually consumed, on average, less in government services than the typical native-born family, and paid nearly as much in taxes.<<

#4 and #7 - thank you for your links.

It is just an abomination that this information is not available to our lawmakers. (You know - the people we elected into office to represent ‘we the people’.)

I apologize for the sarcasm. I am livid, and probably shouldn’t be even reading these threads, let alone posting.

My suggestion is to print the information out on paper and mail it to your reps, local, state and fed.

That is what I meant by ‘sarcasm’. ALL our lawmakers are aware of the disaster we are enduring! If they aren’t, they are suffering from either total denial, advanced dementia, or want fuller pockets.........

Wanta know what your representatives think of you/us? I am sure that it is mirrored by their staffers. I pulled this off Capitolist.....

While I personally agree that we should pass the immigration bill, as
do many intelligent people, a lot of Americans are unintelligent and
don’t want it... in fact a majority of Americans when polled don’t want
the comprehensive immigration bill, so the Senate, unfortunately, in
that case is more representative there...

Ummmm ever heard of Tom Tancredo, or Steve King, or Ted Poe??? These are Members of Congress in the United States House of Representatives, and yes, they are popularly elected too. Plus, the Senate is supposed to be more insulated from public opinion. That means that it is supposed to be harder for the House to pass something that goes against popular opinion than the Senate and I guarantee the House couldve passed an immigration bill despite all of these prejudicial Americans. So either A) the Senate isn’t working the way the founders intended, it isn’t insulating the Senate from public opinion, B) Rule 22 needs to be changed to allow cloture more quickly or C) the Senate just plain sucks and can’t get its work done. What the Senate needs is a little thing called “the previous questions.” Then maybe we could pass our approps bills.

No, our friends, sons, brothers, etc are fighting against Islamic fundamentalist across the globe to keep us safe but our politicians are letting a different country just tell us what rules we should have for our immigration policy and to let their citizens just come and do what they like in our country.

Thank you. My question is this: why write a bill, present a bill, have a bill passed, (by a majority), and signed by the President of the United States, if that bill is going to be all but totally ignored by the Feds and Administration?

Example: The bill written, presented and passed (majority) by Duncan Hunter for an 854 mile fence on our southern border, signed by our President. In almost a year - only 17 miles have been completed.

Why do we have laws if they are going to be ignored by those in authority?

From today’s email delivery.

During the Great Depression, President Herbert A Hoover ordered the deportation of all illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.
And then again in 1954, President Dwight D Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexican nationals!
The program was called “Operation “Wetback” so that American WWII and Korean veterans had a better chance at jobs. It took 2 years, but they deported them!
Now, if they could deport the illegal back then, they can sure do it today!!
If you have doubts about the accuracy of this information, enter Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.
Anyone aware of these events.

Ireland is doing something about their illegal immigration problem. They did away with anchor babies for one thing.

http://www.themilitant.com/2007/7134/713457.html

“According to the Dublin government’s 2006 census, the workforce south of the border increased by 280,600—or 17 percent—between 2002 and 2006. Immigrants accounted for half that increase and now constitute one in eight of the 2 million employed in the country. According to BBC, immigrants number around 10 percent of the Irish population.”
