Pelosi, Boehner fight over scope of ‘stolen vote’ probe

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) are heading toward a clash over the size and scope of a special investigation into a controversial vote last month that Republicans are calling “the stolen vote.” In a letter to Pelosi Friday, Boehner asked for $1 million for professional investigative staff, consultants and other expenses. He also asked for an expansion of the probe to include “exceedingly controversial events in the House that occurred in close succession in early August,” such as the malfunction of the automatic voting system and alterations of the Congressional Record.

Considering the hundreds of hearings the Dems have brought up on the US Attorneys matter (where NOTHING was proved to be wrong), Boehner is fighting the good fight in this one and this investigation deserves at least a $1 million budget if not a $10 million budget.

Freepers who think John Boehner was part of the problem for the GOP last year just haven’t been paying attention. He really is one of the good guys and he’s been standing up for the right things and principles since he came to Congress. Keep it up, John Boehner!

and alterations of the Congressional Record

I read in "Inside Congress" that the congressional record is designed to reflect only what congress wants remembered - even if the event never occurred.

I'm betting he won't go down this path because both parties would be exposed by their lies in the record.

Boehner should be investigating WHY George Bush(and others) are lobbying so heavily for the Amnesty of 20+ Million Illegal AND LEGAL Alien s just in time for them to be registered as democrats to VOTE(democrat) for HITLERY Clintoon..

If Pelosi had any sense she would not be a democrat..

She is not a democrat.

Neither are about 95% of the other so-called democrats. They are card carrying Socialists.

When are we going to smarten up and call them what they are? I doubt they'd even object too loudly as they are proud of it...

I agree Boehner is one of the good guys, for the most part. However, he repeatedly blocked National Right to Work legislation over the years. That is inexcusable for a “conservative Republican.” (see NRTWC.org for details)

I hate to be shallow but.....I’d trust him more if his tan wasn’t so dark. It makes him look like a lefty gigolo.

I believe you are correct, but would add RINO’s to that category as well.

Socialists have their own Political Party, but they hijacked the Democrat Party decades ago, and are infiltrating the Republican Party.

One of my Major Concerns is the expulsion of the Republican leadership. Republicans can prevent their party from going the route of the Dems if they get together and all spit at once. The ill advised focus on “Moderate” by Republican leadership is not going to do the Republicans any good, but is of purpose to target Conservatives and leave them without effectual voice. Another dirty Socialist/Democrat trick IMO.

Conservatives must 1, save the GOP from Liberal consumption 2, remake an existing third Party to suit our focus 3, Create a new Conservative based Party. The latter two take time and money not available before this all important election, therefore the best bet IMO is to work with the GOP to oust the Liberal influence.

More than ever before America needs Conservative values.

Problem is there is no AG To press the issue.

The Dems forced the top cop off the beat to hide their crimes.

Wrong. They are Stalinists. Big difference.

Rep. Mike McNulty (D-N.Y.), who was presiding in the Speaker’s chair during the vote, declared the Republican amendment failed on a 214-214 deadlock even though the electronic tally board in the chamber showed the amendment winning by a margin of 215-213 when he gaveled the vote to a close.

Pelosi made clear to Boehner two days earlier that she was in no mood for swelling the investigation into mini Watergate hearings.

“There is no reason for this review to become protracted as the committee’s charge is limited to a very small number of matters,” Pelosi wrote in a terse letter to Boehner Wednesday.

Nutjob Nancy at it again. Right Nancy, we understand. You guys only broke the law a little bit, what's with all the fuss, huh?

Stalinists are the absolute control freaks, right? As in control by the very top in government making the decisions for everyone.

Gee, that sound familiar somehow...
