After conservatives and voters abandoned him in 2005, he's done all that is politically expedient to stay in office. In that sense he's been exactly what he always claimed to be: the People's governor. He's not an ideologue, he's a populist.

I seriously doubt those Californians who post on this site could be accused of selling their souls to the left. Are we to concede California as a lost cause and give up the fight? We need to support our fellow freepers who have to fight all those leftist crapheads out there. Giving up is not an option.

Yes, there were some bright spots. Sadly they were far and few between. I agree with you.
I agree that he’s done four things right since he became Governor. Take care.
California is many separate states gathered into one large geographic area. What you are saying is no different from accusing Pennsylvanians of being sellouts to the Left because Philadelphia happens to lie within the state's borders and Rick Santorum lost by 20 points (which is exactly what would happen to McClintock in a state-wide race).
The whole country is easing Left because of the dumbing down of public education rather than anything to do with any given state's overall governing ethic. The more heavily populated states are just getting there first. The Left's Grand Scheme, concocted in the Sixties, is finally bearing irreversible fruit. Ronald Reagan scared the hell out of its creators (who prematurely thought that with the dawn of the Carter Era they had triumphed), but they've managed to put their plan firmly back on track.
And when the wind starts blowing in your direction, the seeds from these weeds will pollute your landscape as well. As conservatives we are all in this together. There are a lot of us here in beautiful California that haven't sold our souls. Taking pot shots at us here in the Golden State won't accomplish squat. Try taking some positive action instead of complaining.
