Clinton's Secrets In His Sock Drawer
Washington Whispers (CBSNews.com) ^ | Sep 6, 2007 | Paul Bedard

Posted on 09/09/2007 10:45:17 PM PDT by newzjunkey

It's a good thing former President Bill Clinton had lots of socks.

It's where he kept all of his secrets, recorded on tape. Author Taylor Branch reveals that Bubba invited him into the residence over 70 times to record Clinton's oral history.

Clinton kept the tapes in a sock drawer. He later used them for his autobiography.

After the sessions, Branch would tape his own recollections on his drive home.

His tape-based book, Wrestling History: The Bill Clinton Tapes, is out next year.

Finding room for the tapes wasn't hard because Clinton "had a lot of socks," Branch said in an appearance at the Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas.

This is fascinating.

During the impeachment the Clinton White House denied there were ANY tape recordings. If Nixon's diaries were fair game, Clinton's audio tapes should have been as well.

“During the impeachment the Clinton White House denied there were ANY tape recordings.”

What’s the statute of limitations on perjury?

It's probably up by now, but still, it's a good question to ask the witch on the campaign trail.

Do you have a source for his denial of having tapes? Cause that would be very much newsworthy...

If I were President, I would keep a secret diary just like this, and I would gladly perjure myself about its existence if asked. It's nobody's damned business, even a prosecutor. The public good is served by preserving a President's ability to be accurate and thorough when writing his memoirs.

Was the author confused when Bubba suggested they bring a video camera and some 1970's guitar background music?

Unlike you, I have no shame...

I really don't think Bubba was inviting this guy in to his residence to conduct interviews...

Gee, I wonder if the billing records for Hillary at Rose Law were in a sock drawer all those years. Maybe if William Jefferson had stored his $10,000 bribe in his sock drawer and not in the freezer the feds wouldn’t have found it.
