Bush got 44% of Hispanic vote, so I stopped reading after your first error.
Republicans picked up 30 percent of the Hispanic vote in 2006. Bush got 40 percent in 2004, an impressive number to be sure, but one that depends heavily on the Cuban voters in Florida and on Texas Hispanics. The new wave of Hispanics coming from Mexico and Central America don’t have the same political values as the conservative Cubans, and the older, conservative, Hispanic families will be the first to admit that Hispanic neighborhoods are fast losing their conservative culture. Read what you want, but the GOP better have something besides a pandering plan. Hispanics will go 25 to 30 percent Republican in the future, with the trend and the population numbers going towards Democrats.
