And there's the catch! You see, in islam, those who are not moslems (aka "infidels" - Christians, Jews, Bhuddists, atheists, agnostics, practically everyone...), are not considered "innocent persons".

Putting aside the absurd notion that you can convert a person’s inner beliefs by force, Islam furthers group think by the concept of the Umma, the Borg-like idea that once you are part of Islam, you cannot leave, no matter what else you might come to believe as being true. No “Religion of Peace” is very peaceful if it teaches that its members have a duty to kill anyone who disagrees with it.
Thus, people who practice Islam must be very conflicted in side, especially given that the Koran states Allah can change His mind at any time. I read a remarkable travel book, written by a Scot who crossed Afghanistan only months after the Taliban fell. The fatal error westerners make is assuming our words mean similar things...peace to us carries an entirely different meaning than achieving peace in Islamic terms. Peace in Islamic terms can mean when Islam has been accepted by all.
Note that it doesn't say this is a bad thing.
