In the linked article Kate McCann says the opposite http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article2188493.ece (snip)Talking about the night she went missing, she said: "I can't remember when I picked Cuddle Cat up. I don't think I did touch Cuddle Cat. I knew straight away a crime had been committed, we had no doubt about that. "I look back sometimes and think 'you didn't do that badly.' We were very conscious of not touching things. "I can't actually remember when I collected Cuddle Cat."

There is also a question as to why Cuddle Cat had the smell of death on it, her reasoning is plain strange. So why did she actaully wash the toy ?
