Why don’t they ask the victim’s families those POS’s?
A story from the very page where this poll is:
Poll: Few Americans think U.S. is winning war on terror
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/11/911.poll/index.html
Can you put this up for the day please?
I just can’t believe Commie News Network’s outrageous gall.
Yes 49% 7883
No 51% 8288

I’d say it’s best left up to the community. I certainly can’t see NYC scaling back any tme soon.
bump
Is it time to scale back large annual observances on 9/11?
Yes 49% 9909
No 51% 10391
Total Votes: 20300
Does anyone else find these numbers unbelievable? It’s been at a steady percentage for quite a while now.
50% yes
50% no
This attitude explains why Memorial Day is just another day off work.
In time, 9/11 will be moved to a set day of the week such as the second Friday in Sept.
Virtually tied. Disgusting, isn’t it.
“Virtually tied. Disgusting, isnt it.”
Sure is. Anti-war sentiment affecting it maybe? I don’t know, but I think an annual observance should always be held.

“CNN is disgusting for even suggesting such a thing. Now theyve made a poll out of it. I hope their next one is, How low do you think CNN can go trying to hang on to its ratings?”
aka~it’s “lack of ratings”
PARTICULARLY STANZA NUMBER THREE.
Have You Forgotten
By Daryl Worley
I hear people sayin’. We Don’t need this war.
I say there’s some things worth fightin’ for.
What about our freedom, and this piece of ground?
We didn’t get to keep ‘em by backin’ down.
They say we don’t realize the mess we’re gettin’ in
Before you start preachin’ let me ask you this my friend.
Chorus
Have you forgotten, how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten, when those towers fell
We had neighbors still inside goin through a livin hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
You took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it’s too disturbin for you and me
It’ll just breed anger is what the experts say
If it was up to me I’d show it everyday
Some say this country just out lookin’ for a fight
Well after 9/11 man I’d have to say right.
Chorus
Have you forgotten, how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell
We had neighbors still inside goin’ through a livin’ hell
And we vow to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
I’ve been there with the soldiers
Who’ve gone away to war
you can bet they remember just what they’re fightin’ for
Have you forgotten
All the people killed
Yes some went down like heroes
In that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten
About our Pentagon
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don’t you tell me not to worry ‘bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?!
that poll is bogus ..you can vote again and again and again
I wouldn’t assume that.
I think it partly depends on what is “large”.
I do think myself we can’t hang onto grief or outrage forever. Moslems themselves are great for hanging onto giant piles of rubble from centuries past where some enemy spanked them - and we know how their culture is, generally. Stuck on old hatreds - of course, they mostly fomented it themselves.
I’m all for some commemoration. But there is some time to pull back. We are a progressive nation, not regressive and stuck in the old days - regardless of what “old” we’re talking about.
Meanwhile, I’ll never forget what Moslems did and my hatred for them - and that is still there. Actually, 9/11 only made it firm for me that Islam is nasty and cruel and evil.
My personal thought is that continued wallowing in and valuing the victimhood of it should be scaled back, because that aspect is itself approaching morbidity.
But at the same time, they (the media) ought to play the grisly tapes of the actual attack and its immediate aftermath with a view for putting jihad back into the perspective it so justly deserves and demands, because far too many people pretend to themselves that since we’ve had no subsequent attacks yada yada yada.....
