The anniversary address of Osama bin Laden to mark the attacks of September 11th should be raising alarm bells; however, the Department of Homeland Security is not issuing any new warnings, and instead seems focused on ramping up security for airliners as if to prevent the attack of six years ago.
This illustrates the inability or unwillingness to connect the dots after all these years. I can only believe this stems from the persistent unwillingness of this administration to deal with reality, as opposed to attempting to make reality comport to carefully crafted talking points. Perhaps behind closed doors this is not the case, but in its dealing with the American people, the Bush administration continues to distort progress and downplay the many significant setbacks in its war on terror.

The American people are a case study of 'We hope this is the case!' Nothing is being told to most of US on the home front. Too Quiet!
The distortion of progress is coming from the left and the demoRats. I think Bush has been pretty much straight forward with the mission. And Bush needs to be making more noise about Iran’s involvement in the insurgency in Iraq.
As a state sponsor of terrorism, Iran knows they can get away with interfering because political hack demoRats have no will to fight.
So what if Bin Laden shows his face? Bold moves will get him killed. he can’t hide forever and that will be his downfall.
I am convinced bin Hidin’ is dead. Look at all his videos chronologically. His appearance gets older, then younger, then older, then younger. Al Qaeda is using him as a figurehead. He doesn’t have to be alive.
Moslems kidnap, rape, torture, and murder a thousand Moslems a day for every one ‘Infidel’ they murder.
Their goal is not to make us Moslems, it is to (how did he put it) “wipe us off the face of the earth”. Moslem or not would make no difference to these lunatics.

I haven’t really followed this topic, but I believe the most recent video featured one of the hijackers who was killed 6 years ago — and since it also features Bin Laden, it’s being taken as proof that Bin Laden is still alive. Uhhhhhhhhhhh. Okey-dokey.
As I read through the article two major points jumped out at me.
First, the author lives his life in dreaded fear of bin Laden and al Qaida,
second, true to the liberal bent, he is blaming America, Bush and our foreign policy for world wide terrorism,
and third, he bows to his oppressors, acting as though they are invincible and absolutely able to carry out their every threat.
I might also add a fourth insight, the man comes accross as a sniveling coward, the type bin Laden loves to torment.
You know, I’ve just got to say this. If we can make it look like John F. Kennedy is saying “I think he said he had to pee” in the Forrest Gump movie, I think educated computer rag heads can fake a Vida of Bin Laden pontificating to the American people.

I read the article to mean that his invitation to convert is solely offered to save ourselves and allow us into the “Garden” (heaven). We will still be killed as I intrepret what was said.

If the next attack is nuclear, there will be no force on Earth that could prevent a US nuclear retaliation. Something that cold be done from US based bombers.
This is an excellent article. I think many Freepers have their heads in the sand too. So many people are focusing on whether or not OBL is alive, or if the latest video is a fake, etc.
The real issue facing us is another attack.
Perhaps people are putting way too much stock in the happenstance appearance of the evil one during our commemoration of 9/11?
We are not fighting a battle against a foe that wants to win victory in terms we understand. This is not a military war as we think, but indeed a religious war as stated by the one's instigating it.
I think that this war has not been fougth as aggressively as it should, these people want to die for their cause and we should oblige and find a common ground solution to the problem by killing them
No discussion, no compromise, no political solution can be reached with those that are guided by the desire to end the world as we know it. The extreme moslems define end of the world as more that Islamic rule over the earth, but the end of man's existence on earth and the beginning of kingdom of heaven.
Victory in war has an entirely different meaning our goal of victory in this battle.
And aren't the horrors of war what really impels a society to avoid war?
