It won’t win him a single GOP primary, and unless he moves even further to the netroots left (using his “libertarian” views to look “liberal”, he cannot even dream of any form of “independent” candidacy; and even then, having the kooks of the netroots allied with his minority GOP fans, his campaign treasury will never be sufficient for an independent POTUS candidate. It is no accident that the last one was a self-made millionaire (Perot).

If 20 people showing up at the universities first meeting is indicative of the Ron Paul “mania”, he will remain exactly what he is....a punchline, a joke, the crazy uncle who has escaped from the basement. Internet mania “sweeping” the country, even if it were true and not just a HUGE exaggeration means little or nothing. Let’s see the support money from the big donators. Having supporters who are sitting at home in their underwear eating cheetos and typing passionate blogs, responses, opinions, etc. don’t mean jacks**t. Well, I take that back. If they are at their keyboards we know they have not escaped from thier basements.
(The point was how Paul is held up as some uberConstitutionalist, uberConservative who is supposedly different and most of the other candidates are labeled as RINOs pr are just not Conservative enough (in comparison to Paul), yet, if you left the names and rhetoric out and just stuck the voting records out there, people may have a different take)
