Peaceful Anti-Islam Demonstrators Beaten in Belgium
The Brussels Journal ^ | September 11, 2007 | Bussels Journal

I just returned home from the anti-Islamization demonstration in Brussels. The Belgian police beat up the peaceful demonstrators in what even the Belgian public television call "an extremely violent fashion." Here are some video images. The grey-haired man whom we see being attacked by the police first is Luk Van Nieuwenhuysen, the Vice-President of the Flemish Parliament. Shortly afterwards we see the police maltreating Frank Vanhecke, a member of the European Parliament and the party leader of the Vlaams Belang. We see how he is handcuffed and pushed into a police bus. Afterwards we also see the police "taking care" of Filip Dewinter, the VB group leader in the Flemish Parliament. We see how his arm gets caught between the closing doors of the bus. An Italian MEP and a French MEP were also arrested. The demonstrators were kept in cells for seven hours and released this evening.

Remember the Muslims outside Westminister Cathedral, shouting at Catholics coming out of Sunday Mass, after the Pope's Regensberg speech? Police watching. Doing nothing.

Try that outside their central mosque, and you'd be arrested for "hate speech."

Europe is mostly gone. Write it off. We have to defend Israel. The rest need to be forgotten.

Sounds as if Eurabia is closer than we think.

Wow. Men wearing business suits demonstrating. Can we exchange our demonstrators for theirs? What’s happening in Europe is frightening.

What exactly were they charged with — in other words, what laws did they break?

If they allow their gov’t to treat them this way, they deserve it.

The socialist mayor refused to issue a permit for a Stop Islamization of Europe protest and 9/11 commemoration in downtown Brussels. The same mayor approved a 9/9 troother demonstration, amoung thousands of others in the past. Those arrested were probably arrested for holding an unauthorized, illegal demonstration.

Europe is in the clutches of insanity. We’ve seen how that works out already.

Demonstrating without a permit. Their permit was denied because the topic of the protest was considered hate speech, basically. Euros don't enjoy a Bill of Rights.

If you don't follow the arbitrary rules of the Eureaucrats they have the police beat you up, I guess.

Europe is still nice to vacation in but I wouldn't want to live there, particularly in Brussels.

“Europe is mostly gone.”

Perhaps so, but the US is slowly crumbling. We treat Muslims with more respect than they deserve and give them privileges not granted to other religions.

One of the flaws in the formation of NATO was that we failed to require them to give up totalitarianism and authoritarian techniques.

None of this is new ~ that's why we're Americans and why they're not.

Less we are like them the better ~ wonder if they sell some sort of "turns your skin blue" stuff ~ make doggone sure I'm not mistaken for a European.
