Sorry - I'm sure I've missed it or something, but does anyone know why Vitter and DeMint (probably some others in there too) - strong anti-amnesty vote people voted against this?

One more time - per someone in Kay Bailey’s office. Repub’s didn’t vote for it because it is only for one year, for one union and for 100 trucks. They want a stop to all NAFTA, the border closed, the immigrants returned to wherever, denial of money to sanctuary cities, photo ID for voters, etc. Last annual count showed millions and millions of trucks per year cross from Mexico to the 20 mile zone. They tried to hold the Dems feet to the fire but that did it poorly. Why they didn’t do a press conference to explain to people why they didn’t support the Dems version is beyond me. The Dems can now say “Well, we tried but the Republicans just didn’t support us...” Another half truth.
