I thoughts were paraphrasing Adm Halsey - “When this is over the koran will only be read in Hell!”

I’m still thinking that to this day.

I’m also really, really, really glad Algore didn’t get to be president...

Just brought the 6 attack-free years up in law class when my teacher was spouting on about all the anti-terrorism laws and how they’re an overreaction.

And the response was???

Here's what I was thinking. It came from another poster but I can't remember who.

I know what you mean. I was wondering what was coming next. If anyone was still alive. And the images of the families with the pictures of their loves ones asking anyone they came in contact with “have you seen them?” They were so desperate. It still gets me.

“Thank you President Bush and all those protecting us from Al Qaida. God Bless you and may you get even better at it as every day goes by.”

Too few seem to reflect on the fact that our enemies almost certainly would have hit us again, hard, if they could. Otherwise, they look as they do now...impotent.

By no means does that mean it’s time to let our guard down.

I'm sorry to say that it appears to have been accurate.

You nailed it. We still haven't offically identified islam as the enemy. *sigh*

I’ll never forget it. A local radio and TV host was incensed this week, as he has been every year, that 9/11 is acknowledged in any way. Unbelievable.

Just a slight clarification, not all of the victims were American citizens, at least 100 were British citizens, and there were many other foreign nationals who perished in the Twin Towers. That's why the WoT is not just our fight, it should be the world's fight.

Just FYI:

63 Muslim countries (as defined by the CIA) from Afghanistan to Zanzibar, without a single 9/11 WTC (non-hijacker) fatality.

4 Muslim countries with 9/11 WTC fatalities:
Indonesia (92% Muslim) 1 dead
Lebanon (75% Muslim) 3 dead
Nigeria (75% Muslim) 1 dead
Usbekistan (88% Muslim) 1 dead

Giving a grand total of 6 fatalities from møøselimb countries.

Just for comparison: 140 Israelis died in the rubble of the WTC...

Yep. First I was sad. Then I was mad. When I woke up on the 20th, I wanted to get even.

And I still do.

I don't.

I want a million to one payback.

One was of a severed hand lying in the dirt, and the other was of a man falling from one of the towers. Those photos filled me with horror and a deep sadness. Anger came later, when I first saw the images of the Palestinians celebrating the attacks. Those pictures made me shake with rage. They still do. We need to remember those images too.

That hand and the dead FD Chaplin (Who the media erroneously thought was gay) were the only two bodies the MSM ever showed the American people.

Speaking of NoVa, I think the Arab Street might be getting uppity again, judging from the volume of the Arabic music polluting forth from the twin 14's and 4 open windows of a yupscale vehicle driven by some swarthy hirsute individual in Herndon yesterday, 9/11.

I thought to myself, we need a few more Patriot Act riders than the John-Doe-informant protected from prosecution thing, like maybe a John-Doe-just-kicked-some-terrorist-sympathizers-ass protected from prosecution thing.

I remember seeing a political cartoon that came out a few weeks after 9/11. It showed a couple sitting on a couch watching TV as President Bush is shown standing tall with the firefighters at Ground Zero, inspecting the wreckage and ruin at the Pentagon, and meeting with the families of the victims.

The wife comments that she sure is glad that Bush is president.

The husband just sits there for a little while before replying, "Shut up, Tipper."

Perfect.

You were certainly thinking more clearly than I was in that time frame.

What were you thinking on 9/12/01? How long?

When will the next shoe(s) drop?

Why didn't they hit more targets on 9-11?

Why didn't they have lots of operatives on the streets of NYC with
machine guns, waiting to mow down people trying to escape the disaster areas?
(i.e., why didn't they follow through with more terror?)
Or blow up hospitals with truck bombs so no medical help could be available.
(I started thinking: these guys need to take lessons from the
Palestinians on maiming/killing first and secondary responders)

Can I trust all the Muslims in my neighborhood? (I lived in
West Los Angeles at the time, where there are so many ex-pat
Iranians that it is called "Tehrangeles").

Before someone flames me for the last thought...I did come close
to intervening when a yuppie verbally assaulted a checker
at the Ralphs grocery store at the corner of Bundy and Wilshire.
This happened in the little "patio" area at the back side of the
store. The yuppie just started screaming at the cashier (on break)
"YOU F--KING KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!", along with
other expletives.
It seemed like 30 minutes, but this probably happened over about
30 seconds.
(The cashier could have been taken to be one of our Iranian
ex-pats)

Just as I decided, someone (me, unfortunately) needs to calm this
situation down...
the yuppie wheeled about, jumped into his elite car. And burned rubber
as he exited the Ralphs parking lot.

Honestly, I can't even tell you what type of car he drove;
the tension was so high...my eye-witness capabilities suffered.

But I'm not totally down on the yuppie.
Being in West Los Angeles, the chances he knew someone that
perished in the Twin Towers is a bit higher than for the average Joe
in flyover-country.

Thanks.

Too bad that out of the 8 suggestions I listed, only 3 have had a half-hearted attempt at seeing the light of day. If they had fully implemented all 8, the war with terrorists would be over.

Yeah. Well, you can always send it to whoever is the president after the next attack...

Some of us (including me) thought that this attack was a precursor for something bigger, even more evil. Russia and China were in the backs of many of our minds, but we knew without a doubt that it was a terrorist attack when the first plane hit, and it was confirmed a few minutes later when we watched in the Security offices in my building, the second plane.

Many of us believed that some bigger state had funded it, put it together and it was simply a precursor to a larger invasion by a "large number of people" from "another state".
