Actually it was not the Allentown PD involved in this but only reported in an Allentown paper. Allentown is considerably further south of this bridge. This bridge spans over the Delaware Water Gap and connects northern NJ and PA. There's a ton of commerce that goes over this bridge so if it's damaged it will be quite disruptive.

From the Monroe County DA: "I'm disturbed that there appears no clear line of communication [from New Jersey] to the local police and myself about the situation," Christine said. "I intend to make an inquiry that it doesn't happen again."

Sounds like they're going to serious now.../s
