MARTINEZ -- Alexander Hamilton, who was 18 when he murdered Pittsburg police Officer Larry Lasater, should die by execution, a jury recommended today.

The Contra Costa County jury that heard evidence over two weeks in Hamilton's penalty trial reached its verdict in less than a day of deliberations.

The jurors convicted Hamilton and his co-defendant, 20-year-old Andrew Moffett, last month of murder, robbery and special circumstances.

The duo robbed a Pittsburg Raley's supermarket and a Wells Fargo Bank branch inside the store on April 23. Hamilton shot 35-year-old Officer Larry Lasater as the officer pursued him on the De Anza Trail in Antioch.

Moffett was 17 at the time of the killing and not eligible for the death penalty.

Hamilton's mother testified that she should have aborted him. What she should have done is raised him properly.

Looks like the prison guards will get to do another ex-post facto abortion.

I was in that store today. I used to live just down the street, and went there frequently.

No wonder he had no respect for human life.

Maybe he should write a children’s book while he pursues his appeals.

Cal doesn’t have a death penalty any more. They die of old age while the democRATs argue the finer points. At least they are housed on death row.

The a-hole will rot in prison while the scumbag lawyers gin up appeal after appeal. Eventually after millions of taxpayer dollars the POS will get the needle. Such a deal.

Well, they will eventually get around to executing him, somewhere around 2032 if history is any guide.
