Why commit suicide? Why not just run? Hsu had the resources to make a run for it, especially given his fleecing of Woodstock impressario Joel Rosenman. Forty million could get Hsu anywhere in the world, or even a small fraction of it could get him back to Hong Kong quietly enough. Could it be that Hsu feared something even worse than exposure -- even worse than prison?

Why did Hsu work so hard to corrupt so many campaigns? Who wanted to buy influence, and why?

No one in the MSM seems to be asking what was all the donated money was going to get Hsu. What was the quid pro quo? With all the money he could either hire a good lawyer or flee to HK. Obviously, going back to China was not an option and suicide (to him) was the only option.

I think the answer is this: Hsu does not know which of these is/was safer:

1) Being on the lam
2) Being in prison

Either way his life is in big danger, IMO.

A “tipster” called the FBI to let them know Hsu was in the hospital? Why does it have to be annonymous? The guy was wanted by authoritiess wasn’t he? Are these people afraid to let other people know that they’ve done their civic duty? Very strage.
