If you lived in Pembroke Pines in the 80s, your intel is waaaaay out of date. I live there now with the wife and kids. It's now the eighth largest city in Florida and the fourth largest in South Florida after Miami, Hialeah, and Fort Lauderdale -- larger than Hollywood and West Palm Beach.

This guy was caught in what's now the far eastern part of Pembroke Pines, near the border with Hollywood -- the majority of the population spread further west past I-75, which areas are very nice and even upscale. This was in large part due to Hurricane Andrew, and these western areas have boomed since. Happily, the city fathers happened to have the unusual foresight to provide good infrastructure. Because of I-75, these western areas are as close to downtown Miami as they are to downtown Fort Lauderdale.

It's the opposite of a sewer, and with the schools, larger houses, and tons of amenities and services, actually one of the more desirable places to live in Broward County.

Agreed. I said it was “far” from a sewer.

Unfortunately, as I pointed out in my other post, the politics remain dominated by the Lib Dem Socialist transplants from New York.

With the ethnoreligious changes occurring in Broward (ie the Jewish Dems either moving up to Palm Beach or going to the cemetary) we will need to get the upper/upper middle class Venezuelans and Colombians registered in order to have any influence in Broward, which has been a liberal cesspool since the late 70s/early 80s.
