I realize some have a thing about having all expertise unto themselves when it comes to religion. Not usually the case when they think about though.

No need to depend on some men in Rome to issue broad guidelines about right and wrong.

It was specific on a more and more pertinent question of great concern to families.

The Pope/Magisterium are our church's teaching authority.

It might help you understand to compare it, very loosely, to you looking to your CPA or attorney in their areas of expertise.

I understand that you are sincere in your allegiance to your church’s leaders. I respect that.

However, while I may take my earthy affairs to an expert in earthy affairs, I’m not about to entrust something as critical as my relationship with God to some earthly men in robes who set themselves up as holy.

We, you and I, have a High Priest sitting at the right hand of God ready to guide us and to represent us before the Father. We don’t need someone standing between us and the Lord. We don’t need some man telling us what God wants. We have the printed word of God at our fingertips, the education to read what He tells us, and the intelligence to obey.

The Jews of the New Testament were led by leaders in fancy dress who had taken the Law of Moses, added to it, twisted its intent, and made it a convoluted burden on the good people who wanted to follow God. Read what Jesus had to say to them.

That would be in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. New Testament.
