Public school teachers know that they are supposed to keep their political opinions to themselves.
That surely is one of the first things they learn.
If they are going to use their position to foist their own viewpoints on kids in their charge, then they ought to be looking for another job.
Then she is the dumbest person on the face of the earth.
The left is a disease and if we are lucky someday it will be confined in well isolated petri dishes for study with clear warnings of how dangerous it is. This is another reason why I home school. I don’t have to deal with this. Parents send their children off to the re education camps and wonder why the monsters that return hate them and hate America.
I wish we could send him to Iran or North Korea and be done with him.
I used to have so much respect for teachers. At 58 years old, I can still name every one of my teachers. That was a different world. Now, “teachers” have sunk lower than lawyers on my respect scale. They are nothing more than political propagandists for MoveOn.org’s DemocRATik Party.

“Liberal arts colleges have a key role to play. Indeed, they may be better than large universities for what I have in mind.
I am not sure I have the right term to describe it: “comprehensive,” “integrated,” “immersion experience,” are all possibilities. I think of four elements.
1) The first is obvious: a curriculum so infused with international content that a student cant escape. I am not talking about a new version of distributional requirements with a few courses set up to satisfy them; rather, a comprehensive rethinking of the curriculum.
2) The second is to cultivate a way of thinking about the world that is not U.S.- centered a way of looking at an issue, problem, opportunity, or conflict from multiple perspectives.
3) The third is comfort with difference diverse cultures and traditions, as well as respect for people of different races, ethnicities, classes, and ideologies.
4) The final element is the practical ability to work in radically different cultures. It requires more than a knowledge of other places learned on campus. A meaningful study or work experience abroad is essential.

Oh good, now we have grade school or junior high school principles lying. Who should look to now? This going way to far.
This made me think of the 45 Communist goals introduced into the Congressional record in 1963, which included...
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
I think I posted all 45 of them to you in the past, have I not?
How stupid are parents to allow this to go on in their public schools?
He concluded the letter with “After careful consideration of the facts of our current situation, I have decided to announce to everyone that I am no longer a citizen of the United States, but a free and independent member of the global community.”

Take Brooks at his word and give him 60 days to prepare to be assisted from the United States of America. He can be replaced, you know...
If my son brought home a note such as this, I would not be satisfied until the scalps of the teacher, the school principal, and the superintendent were all hanging on the school's wall.
It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if this teacher were either a DUmmie or a KOmmie. Would like to know what his screen name is.
In that case, his ass should be fired and he should be deported fom the U.S. to the global community.
Where do shits like this come from?
Back when I was going to school we did not have this, in fact, a lot of them were WWII and Korean War veterans.
“.....Principal Joanne Parsley said she doesn’t believe Brooks has any political agenda to advance.”
If she read the letter and believes what she said, then she is, in my opinion, too stupid to function in society.
deport him to lovely North Korea
I had my blood pressure under control this morning prior to reading this post. Is 800 over 675 normal?
"The point was, I wanted to ask parents if they would sign such a letter if conditions that existed prior to the Revolution were happening now,"...
What horse manure !
The conditions that existed prior to the American Revolution was not a state of being "...a free and independent member of the global community."
You were a subject to a king or to a nation state, you were neither totally free or independent. There was no global community to be part of
If this was his true intent, to teach this lesson rather than preach an ideology, he should be reassigned to teach another subject because comparative history is beyond his ability to teach
