It’s pronounce Poo-ket. Been there many times when I lived in Singapore. Phuket is a big vacation destination for Americans living SE Asia.
While living in Tokyo I used to stay at the Karon Villa and Patong Beach. What an amazing and beautiful place. The Thai people are very friendly and they actually like Americans.
