would guess that the Finnish establishment is beside itself with glee over this development, for they take it as evidence that Muslims are assimilating, joining the political process, becoming responsible Finnish citizens.

Actually, I think perhaps this is a better way to ‘socialize’ what they actually think. So far, the Muslims have used and/or formed a mutualistic symbiosis the leftist parties under the banner of multiculturalism. Having the Western guilt, many people simply think the Muslims are nice people who want to integrate fully but didnt get a fair chance. Now, with their demand up in the air, people can see what Muslims really want. Those said goals will turn off many people.
