Simple. I agree that 80% is a good threshold to be a reliable conservative. I'm not going to support Candidate A for having an 80% ACU rating but scream that Candidate B, who also has an 80% ACU rating, deserves to lose to a Dem.

Many Fredheads disagree. They think the candidate with the 80% ACU rating deserve a promotion but the candidate with the 95% ACU rating deserves a lynching.

But they don't have the balls to admit this when I call them on it.

That's all. ;-)

That was the point of my excerpt post.
Only MEMBERS can publish.
I guess I should have been clearer...

Maybe you should have been just a little MORE clear...?

NOTES ON MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS Foreign Affairs covers a broad range of topics related to American foreign policy and international affairs. It strives to present clear thinking by knowledgeable observers on important issues, written in English that can be read with ease and pleasure by both professionals and a general audience.
We publish four categories of material. Comments are 2,000-3,000-word front-of-the-book pieces that make a single, provocative point. Essays are more extensive 4,000-5,000-word pieces of analysis or reportage that comprise the body of the magazine. Review Essays are 2,000-3,000-word discussions of new books. Correspondence presents feedback from readers on material that has been published in previous issues. Letters to the editor intended for publication should be no more than 500 words and may be edited for space and style if selected.
We welcome unsolicited manuscripts and article proposals. The normal way to submit material is through regular mail; please type or print out your submission, double-spaced, on standard 8 1/2" x 11" paper, using only one side of each sheet.
Please send materials to Foreign Affairs, Editorial Department, 58 East 68th Street, New York, NY 10065.
The best guide to what we are looking for, in terms of both substance and style, is what we have already published, so prospective authors should start by carefully examining current and recent issues of the magazine. All submissions should be accompanied by a brief note describing the author's current and past positions, recent publications, and relevant experience. We do not have fact checkers, and rely on authors to ensure the veracity of their statements. Although we try to avoid using footnotes in print, authors should be able to provide, if asked, appropriate citations for any facts or quotations their pieces contain. Unless otherwise informed, we assume any article submitted to us is being offered exclusively, and that no article accepted for publication will be published elsewhere simultaneously in any form without our knowledge.

When GWB was running for President he already before he arrived at the point in all the previous years was preparing for years lining up his ducks and having a safety net for atrition, and had an agenda in place.

Fred is in aw but opportunity is knocking and he has nothing in place not even a core value that he lived for years so we would know his foundation.

Remember Reagan spend 24/7 reading and studying and pondering the issues for decades before running for office!

He did not get out on the campaign field and reply I am not familar to almost every major event for the last 5 years!

How can one be clueless to the Schiavo case?

You can go there right now and discover that “true conservative” Fred Thompson’s ratings are not much different than “RINO traitor” Lindsey Graham...except Graham is slightly to the right of Fred.

Is that true? LOL

Dad gummit! Under the rules of the Fred Thompson drinking game, you just made me get sloshed!!

You know, there are different versions and we need to be careful here with the way the anti-Fred hysteria is already taking hold among some constituencies; we don't want any of our folks to harm themselves.

It's very simple. Whenever someone calls Fred lazy, you have a shot of Jack Daniels. Whenever someone calls Paul a nutcase, you have a shot of Koolaide. Whenever someone calls Mitt slick, you have a shot of ginger ale. When ever someone calls McCain a maverick, you have a shot of Pepto-Bismol. Whenever someone calls Rudy, well, anything, you have a fruity drink with a miniature umbrella in it. Whenever someone mentions Hunter, you get thankful for the coverage and buy a round of beers for everyone in sight.

Give it a rest, Bill. He’s gonna be the nominee. Get with the program so we can win.

I invented one that has only one simple rule: whenever anyone calls Fred "folksy" everybody has to do a shot.

I've been at least a little buzzed since April.

The Ron Paul spambots sure are running up his tally on the “non-member” side.

Why would you want Tancredo as the VP running mate?
He does more in Congress than he would as the official US Observer to State Funerals.

What can I say. I like Fred T. No, I REALLY like Fred T. for president. But...I also like Mitt. I think he did an outstanding job as Gov. of MA; as well as could be expected for a Conservative governing the most liberal state in the nation.

I’d like to see them on the same ticket.
That's highly doubtful.
Mitt is just too dirty a campaigner.
It's his forte.

That is change since the 1980s then. I am looking at a copy from Spring 1988 and it indicates only members may submit.

Still, Mitt’s a member, it is right there on the CFR site...

That would be fine...

If Fred supported amnesty...

However we have seen that Mitt is in the CFR.

Thanks for playing.

Looks like they have gone to an open submission format. Maybe due to web publishing to generate more articles.
