So now I guess we have to add Fred Barnes to the “No Longer a Conservative Because He’s Not A FredHead” list?

No, however, his total and complete support for Open Borders and I believe his support of Rudy really puts a question mark next to the idea that he is a conservative.

No, you can add Fred Barnes to the “never a conservative” list for supporting Harriet Miers and amnesty.

I’m truly beginning to wonder how many people can retain memories of only the past couple of years. There was political life before Thompson entered this race you know.

Barnes was an overbearing dismissive elitist during those fights declaring it didn’t matter what we thought, it only mattered what the politicians in the beltway thought. then he confidently predicted both last tries at amnesty would pass, and harriet would be confirmed.

If you want to pitch a tent in his camp...be my guest.

Just don’t tag dismissal of him because we’re all starry eyed over Thompson.

IMO, almost all politicians are disingenuous to some degree. Case in point? I’m not buying Thompson’s answer on Terri. He’s still the most conservative likely to get the nom, he’s making a conservative case for election, and he’s not a liberal. barring the upset by Hunter, this leads me to support him.
