"“This is nothing less than a raid on our sovereignty,” Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., warns . . . "

Well, I know he's smarter than I am about these things, so I'll take his word for it. But I wish he would cite chapter/verse of why he thinks it's a raid?

At least mention something about the fact that Article VI, para 2 prevents such an happening. Our sovereignty is something that no one in our government can give away by treaty, as such a treaty would be repugnant to the supreme law of the land.

Only the laws congress passes which are in pursuance to the Supreme Law become a part of the Supreme Law of the land.

Anyone here believe otherwise after reading Article VI? I can't give your property away, Sovereignty is the property of the people, not the government.

we'd loose our 200 mile offshore soverienty on the atlantic side, because the continent isn't continuous under the sea. The continental self ends abruptly only a mile out at best, a little more in a few places.

This will put international waters 3 miles off our eastern coast.

That's why they steer your attention to the west coast, where our continental shelf is continuous well beyond the current 200 mile limit. (contrary to what plate tectonic theory says)

And that's just for starters. The impact on our ability to deploy our navel forces will be severly impacted, and fall under authority of non- US government control. We need to get rid of all these corrupt senators and straighten this government out.
