“If there is to be a VP from the ranks of the presidential candidates, it will be Rudy Giuliani.”

If that is the case I will continue to pray for the health of Fred Thompson. Twice a day.
And if it was someone else you would not?

“We have spent close to a Trillion dollars on the war in Iraq. It is not worth the cost to our country and our people.”

I have no problem with folks who didn’t want to go to Iraq in the first place. But we are there now. If we pull out we will be considered weak, and will be a target for the radical Islamic terrorists, and every evil dictator in the world. Losing this war is NOT an option.

Besides 9/11, the WTC was attacked in ‘93, there was an attack on the Cole, our embassies were attacked throughout the ‘90’s, and not only that, but this terrorism is GLOBAL.

Jihad dictates that we 1) Convert; 2) Die. I don’t like those choices. Do you?

“If so, why did the US Supreme Court refuse to take the case?”

Maybe because liberal, antilife judges were in the majority in SCOTUS.

Never forget. The courts are what gave us Roe.

One of the major backers is Rabbi Aryeh Spero. I don’t know of any Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists,.... presenting but there may be one.

You know, Rudy isn't as liberal as George HW Bush was when Reagan chose him for his running mate.
Fred is going to pick the person who helps him the most electorally, if that is Guiliani, then so be it.
What's important is that Hillary is not allowed to implement HillaryCare 2.0.
Let Rudy be the official US Funeral Observer. He has proven himself to do a fine job of it.

that’s fine...but Terri was responding to her family and the motives of her husband were very much in question because there were some rehab things that he was denying to Terri. Something was very fishy there and Terri could very possibly have gotten better. Also, the whole circumstance of her injury was very much in question. She should not have been killed with the questions about her husband so obvious to her family...regardless of what you judge as show boating by the religious right. How do you know they were not totally sincere? I don’t think you do.

I would think that Hunter’s views on trade would be attractive to many conservative union members - so he might be able to put states like Michigan back in play. On the other hand, Huckabee comes across as a very likeable guy and is an excellent debater so he might do better in a general election than expected as well.

Your arguments are cogent and persuasive, especially in areas I hadn't considered like the union vote. In addition to being union members, many of them in states like PA and WV are also hunters as well. That's what swung the vote for Bush in the 2000 election in the states of TN and WV. Imagine a favorite son not getting the support from his own southern state for his views on firearms! Guns are going to play a critical role...again.

This is where Rudy and McCain and Mitt are all going to get chomped on the butt for their records. I understand that Fred has had a few negative votes in this area as well, but all he needs to do is to state that the bills were unacceptable or important for certain overriding factors.

What's important is that right now, I can sense when a candidate is doing a "tap dance" for votes and when they are being genuine. Rudy and Mitt and McCain are all walking a very fine line so as to keep their options on guns open. Fred has been unyielding in his spoken comments on the 2nd Amendment and it's not won him any friends in the antigun camp. They know the real thing from a tap dancer, too.

****I have no problem with folks who didn’t want to go to Iraq in the first place. But we are there now. If we pull out we will be considered weak, and will be a target for the radical Islamic terrorists, and every evil dictator in the world. Losing this war is NOT an option.****

Why would we be considered weak? Our military destroyed the Iraqi army and occupied the country in a very short time span. We got rid of Saddam and his “weapons of mass destruction.” They had their election. Now it is time for them to run their own country. We could be there another 20 years and the ambushes, car bombs, suicide bombers and IEDs attacks would continue, because we are not ruthless enough to stop the majority of them. Israel is much more aggressive in retaliating for attacks and we are not willing to go even that far.

*****Besides 9/11, the WTC was attacked in ‘93, there was an attack on the Cole, our embassies were attacked throughout the ‘90’s, and not only that, but this terrorism is GLOBAL.****

So two attacks in this country constitutes many attacks?

Oh, I see. We are going to occupy countries all over the world to combat the radical Islamists. In the meantime, we are going to have troops in Japan, Germany, Poland, S. Korea, defend Taiwan, etc. to fight communism.

****Jihad dictates that we 1) Convert; 2) Die. I don’t like those choices. Do you?****

Nope, we can fight them with black opts like the one in the Tom Clancy movie where we sent in the elite troops to destroy a training camp in the desert. We could do like the Israels did with the Black September Group. They got them all and they didn’t care who got in their way. Occupying a country that doesn’t want us there and putting our soldiers at risk with bad terms of engagement IS NOT the way to do it.
